Oakwood - North Baldwin’s Center for Living
Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility
The History of Oakwood
At Oakwood - North Baldwin’s Center for Living, the roots of our tree are important to us because they represent the residents we serve. They are our strong foundation.

Our facility was established in 1991. We admitted our first two residents, a husband and wife, on June 10, 1991. In 1997 the facility expanded and 15 beds were added. Oakwood - North Baldwin's Center for Living is an affiliate of North Baldwin Infirmary and Infirmary Health System.
We have been recognized for Excellence in Service by the National Nursing Administration Association in Long Term Care. We were also selected as one of the 34 nursing homes in the state to participate in the Alabama Quality Assurance Foundation's Quality Care Initiative in 2005-2007.
Additionally, in 2006 the facility was awarded a best practices recognition for Innovation Activity Programming in the development of a resident hand bell choir. At least nine other nursing homes in the state have adopted this program.
