Community Programs
North Baldwin Infirmary takes an active interest in the health and well-being of the surrounding communities. In addition to various continuing education classes and health care seminars, the hospital also hosts health fairs, health screenings, blood drives, and other events to benefit the local communities. Check these pages regularly for changes and additions to the schedule.
Health Education Lecture Series
The North Baldwin Infirmary Foundation's monthly health education lecture series is designed to keep you informed of the latest health trends and to provide you with answers to your health care questions. The lectures are free to the public.
Seminars provided by Community Hospice
Classes are the third Wednesday of each month from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the first-floor conference room at North Baldwin Infirmary. For your convenience, lunch will be served.
Contact hours are available for social workers, nurses and nursing home administrators.
Please register for classes at least the Monday prior to class with Debbie Stephens at (251) 580-1774. All classes are free.

Prenatal and Newborn Classes
The North Baldwin Infirmary OB department prenatal and newborn care classes are offered weekly in the North Baldwin Infirmary first-floor conference room. The classes are free; registration is not required. Click here for more information or call (251) 937-5521 and ask the operator for the OB department.
BLS Classes
This three-hour class is designed for the health care
professional that needs to provide either basic CPR or
foreign body airway obstruction management in the adult,
child or infant. Classes are held in the North Baldwin
Infirmary conference room on the second floor.
Cost is $5 for Infirmary Health System employees and
$50 for health care providers outside Infirmary Health
System.

ACLS Classes
This 16-hour class is designed for the health care professional that needs knowledge and skills for advanced cardiac life support. A current BLS provider card is required. Skill in EKG interpretation is highly recommended. Please purchase the current ACLS manual and read it prior to class. Cost is $5 for Infirmary Health System employees and $125 for health care providers outside Infirmary Health System. The classes are held in the North Baldwin Infirmary conference room on the second floor (room 2504).

ACLS Renewal Classes
This nine-hour course is designed for the health care professional that needs to renew ACLS provider status. A current BLS card, current AHA ACLS card and 80-percent pretest score are required. lease purchase the current ACLS manual and read it prior to class. Cost is $5 for Infirmary Health System employees and $75 for health care providers outside Infirmary Health System. The classes are held in the North Baldwin Infirmary conference room on the second floor (room 2504).

PALS Refresher Class
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) refresher class has been scheduled. The PALS course is designed to aid healthcare professionals in devloping the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically-ill infants and children. PALS is used during the stabilization and transportation phases of a pedatric emergency, in our hospital.
Pre-registration is required. To Partcipate, call Lisa Bush, R.N. at 580-1852 or email lisa.bush@infirmaryhealth.org. The course is free for IHS employees and $50 for non-employees.
The class will be held in the first-floor conference room from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
