Heart Care
Critical Cardiac Care
A heart attack is a life or death emergency where every second counts. North Baldwin Infirmary's newly modernized Emergency Room (ER) is your first step in critical cardiac care. Equipped with the latest in technology, our ER can provide you with an accurate and rapid cardiac screening. Featuring three cardiac exam rooms, our new ER offers the innovative 12-lead continuous patient monitoring system to detect early signs of an acute heart attack, and we can administer thrombolytic therapy to break up dangerous clots inside your blood vessels. We also provide a prompt transfer to one of our affiliated hospitals, if needed.
Echocardiogram
This test uses sound waves to create a picture of the heart. This test can be used in the diagnosis of a number of heart conditions including valve disorders, cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure and heart attack.
Cardiac Fitness
North Baldwin Infirmary Wellness Center is a full-service fitness facility that provides memberships to families throughout the community.
As a new member, you will take part in a personal health assessment conducted by certified exercise physiologists and technicians. The assessment includes measurement of resting heart rate and blood pressure, total body flexibility and body composition. The assessment helps determine your current fitness level and provides the basis for developing an individualized fitness program.
Each new member's fitness program is specifically created to meet individual health needs and personal goals. Aerobics and strength training form the core of the program, with specific workout routines designed for the Wellness Center's variety of equipment including treadmills, stair climbers, rowers, elliptical trainers, exercise bikes, free weights, Olympic size pool and more.
