Announcing the Ninth Annual Women'sBest Weekend

Image consultant and motivational speaker/author Drexel Gilbert will the ninth annual Women’sBest Weekend keynote speaker.

Make new friends, spend time with old friends, or enjoy some quality time with your mother or daughter at the ninth annual Women'sBest Weekend October 3 through October 5 at the Perdid Beach Resort in Orange Beach. This weekend getaway for women of all ages and from all walks of like will be presented by North Baldwin Infirmary and Thomas Hospital with assistance from exclusive sponsors, LuLu's, Springdale Travel and The Silver Basket.

Kick off the Women'sBest Weekend on Friday evening by sipping your choice of wine or champagne while visting the exhibitor area followed by dinner and entertainment from Dance City. Saturday's activities will include the keynote address by image consultant and motivational speaker/author Drexel Gilbert; exercise classes including Zumba - a form of Latin Dance instucted by Lisa Brown - and Jazzercise with Francesca Legg; lifestyle sessions, and lunch.

On Saturday evening, there will be an internationl wine tasting, sponsored by Eastern Shore Plastic Surgery, featuring Pinnacle Imports at the Delicatezza Cafe' at SanRoc Cay plaza. Several stores in the plaza will offer extended shopping hours as well.

William Staggers, M.D., of Eastern Shore Plastic Surgery will present a session on the latest non-surgical cosmetic procedures. Bernita McCants, M.D., of North Baldwin Famikly Medical, will address obesity management. Connie Gillespie, a physical therapist with Infirmary Rehab Services and Registered Dietitian Elizabeth Maginn, Thomas Hospital, will give a lecture on osteoporosis and the importance of calcium. Cholesterol, blood sugar, blood pressure, body mass index and bone density screenings will also be offered. LouAnn Houlton, exercise physiologist with Thomas Health and Fitness, will be available at the screenings for consultation on results and information on weight, body fat and overall health issues.

The Women'sBest Weekend schedule also allows for pampering and leisure activites. Educational and retail booths featuring area businesses will be in the exhibition hall throughout the conference. All registered partcipants will be eligible for numerous door prizes as well as two incredible grand prizes awarded by Springdal Travel.

Women'sBest Weekend also includes announcement of the winners of the Annual Women'sBest Awards. Nominations for the awards will be accepted through September 15. Anyone who nominates a woman for an award will be eligible to win a grand prize. Nominations for women who have been nominated in the past but did not receive an award will be accepted, but must be resubmitted. Those who nominate women for the awards as well as nominees, do not have to be members of Women'sBest or attend Women'sBest Weekend. The awards will be presented during the luncheon on Saturday, October 4.
